  1. There is a holy well on the left hand side of the road leading from Doneraile to the park, and there is a passage leading up to it from the road. There is a small bush near it and a drinking cup. There are some remarkable cures effected there. My cousin went there with sore eyes. She said some prayers and rubbed the water with cotton wool on them and she was cured.
    It is said that the well was farther out in the country long ago, but that a woman ran short of water and got some to boil for the tea. Strange to say she could not boil it and the well removed back towards the town where it is now.
