- (continued from previous page)all die with the hungar. Hansel and Mary were awoke and they heard what their wicked mother was saying. Mary began to cry but Hansel comforted her and said they would make their way home. Hansel was a very clever child and she went outside the door and picked up two pockets full of small white pebbles. Their mother came in the morning to call them and she gave them a piece of bread each. Then they all set out on their way to the forest. Hansel was spreading the pebbles on the road as they went along. When they reached the forest they lit a fire and they left the too children there. They told them to stay there until evening. They waited all the day but no one came for them. Then they sat out for home and they followed the white pebbles until they reached home. That night the mother was planning how to rid herself of the children(continues on next page)
