  2. Once there was a widow woman and she has a son called Jack a very lazy fellow. When he grew up to be a young man his mother sent him one day for a needle, When Jack went to the town he went into a shop and bought a needle. He saw passing by a load of hay which was going as far as his own house. He stuck the needle in the hay. When he reached home his mother asked him for the needle and he told her it was in the load of hay. His mother gave him a scolding and a good thrashing and told him he was a fool. "Oh mother" said he "how should I carry it". "You should put it in your pocket" "I'll know better the next time" said Jack. Next day his mother
