  1. A monastery existed formerly on the site of the present Monanimy graveyard. Richard OBrien informs me that the Knights Templars lived here. Portion of the wall of the monastery is still pointed out.
    Charles Coleman who worked in the Carrigacunna estate as land steward informs me that a monastery existed close to Carrigacunna Castle. However there is now no trace of this.
    The ruins of an old church or monastery are still to be seen in the townland of Ballyduff. The field in which these ruins stand is known as the "Church Field". It is in the lands of Mr. Michael Barry.
