People came with spades and pickaxes and tried all the place for the gold. It is thought that the money was buried at the bed of the river and no sign was scene of the gold. The gold was never found.
A man was ploughing in a field near it and he found a big stone four sods down. He marked the place where the stone was. When he came back there was no sign of the stone. It is not known if the stone was lifted up or not.
