  1. Games I play
The game's I played in this district are football, hurling, handball, pitching buttons or money, and fishing. Football and handball are the two favourite games played in this district. In the Autumn I go picking nuts in the wood near my home, and I also go picking blackberries and make jam of them.
Sometimes I go rabbit trapping. I dig a hole in the ground near the burrow the size of the trap. Then I lay the trap into this and cover the handle with sods and shake fine earth over it the rest of the trap to hide it. The way we pitch buttons is, we place a stone on level ground, then we stand seven or eight feet back from this stone. Then pitch one button and the next pitch one and so on. The person who has the nearest button to the stone can take up all the buttons pitched. The stone is called the Jack.
