  1. Dan o' connor was the only good poet in this district. He lived in the village of Cullen
He was born in the year 1847. He was 83 years when he died. He was buried in the old churchyard in Cullen. He wrote a book of poetry called Duainaire Duithch 'ealla all in Irish. He wrote a fine song about the death of Terence Mac Sweeney, Lord mayor of Cork. He never composed with anyone. He was a mason. He could read and write because he was a gaelic scholar. The local people looked upon him as a genuis.
