It is said that the country people walked from the mountain region of North Cork to Mass at Nohival in the Summer time they always came barefootedA dog owned by the late Dan OConnor of Nohival (Dan the Fiddler) followed his brother to Cobh, the brother being in route for America. The dog was put into a yard at 10 oclock p.m. when Dan got up next morning the dog had arrived home.
- Clogs were worn in the old by most women, and old men invariably wore them. They were comfortable and warm, and of late years are again being used by people of all ages during the cold and wet Winters.
