  1. There are some interesting place names around Kinsale such as Ardmartin (the hill of Martin) which is situated about a mile on the northern side of the town near Milewater.

    "Tissasson" (Tig Sasanach) the house of the English man was so called because Cromwell is supposed to have built it and lived in it.

    "Ringrone Castle" overlooking Kinsale is said to have been built with human blood in the time of the Anglo-Norman invasion.
