  1. A man named Patsy was a famous birdcatcher, but a few years ago new laws prohibited him or anyone else from catching good singing birds.
    Patsy, knowing nothing about these laws was returning home, having caught a linnet, which he had in a little bag.
    A civic guard met him and asked him what he had got in the bag and Patsy replied "A linnet
    The guard said to him "Don't you know that's illegal." "What" said Patsy "How could I ever fit "an eagle" in that little bag.
