  1. Long ago there lived a man named ghobhan saor he built the round towers of Ireland. Some say he built Dunowen Castle. His home was in Clonakilty, but he was always out building Castles. The King of Scotland heard of him and asked him if he would build a castle for him. The ghobhan saor was lodging in Dunowen when the King sent for him.
