    In a verdant field retired, with polished tunes acquired
    Her music to inspire, it was just afternoon,
    When crowds of gentle graces resort those lonesome places

    Which thought my heart embraces for the Sweet Cailín Fionn

    A gnaoi-sa ghean ba néata 'sa phíob ar dath na géise,
    A samhail siúd níor léir dom ins an t-saoghal sa le n'fhagháil
    Mar bhí na mílte lag le géar-ghean do'n Bríghde mhaisiúil mhaor 'gainn (?)
    Agus braoí na deasa i dtréíthe tríom Sweet Cailín Fionn
