- There is a field in the townland of Caherogullane which is known as the field of the fort. The people that were living near this field said that they would plough the field.
The man of the house asked his wife would he plough it but she told him not because she said to him that it was not right to have anything to do with a fort. He would not believe her and he went out one morning with his pair of horses and he began ploughing the field of the fort and when he had it finished he put his pair of horses into the stable and the morning after when he looked at the horses the two of them were dead in the stable.
