    had seen during the year.
All the people gathered in to tell them stories. The travellers told them stories in return. The travellers were poor, rugged and merry. Before they used to leave one house in Aherlamore they spent two days mending pots, pans and other household articles.
They who travelled on foot used to take lodgings for a night. They slept on the settle or on the floor. Some others who travelled on foot used go to each house and ask for a halfpenny, and go away.
