  1. There are two fairy forts in the school district. The nearest one to the school is Rathard. We call them Lisses.
    One of them is in the townland of Rathard. The field in which it is situated is hilly. The fort is on the high knoll. It is from this fort Rathard got it's name. The owner of it is William Creedon.
    The other one is situated in the townland of Knockawadra. It belongs to Daniel OLeary.
    The two Lisses are round in shape. It is said that a passage leads from Rathard Liss down to Kilcrea Abbey, and that another one runs from Rathard Liss to Knockawadra underground.
