- Potatoes are grown in the land which we own. We grow up to fifty drills of them. The ground is prepared by my father. It is ploughed and then harrowed. When the earth is broken the drills are made. They are made with a drill plough.
Two months after the setting they are earthed. They are earthed with a drill plough. Spades are used. They are not made locally. When the blight come on the potatoes they are sprayed. A neighbour always sprays them. People help in the setting and picking of the potatoes. In the picking of them, the drill opened with a plough. The spade will root them. This is the kind of a spade is used. [sketch of spade]
