    were made locally.
    Lime was made by the farmers. Most of them had like-kilns in their land.
    Glass was made from sand and soda. They were put into a pot to boil. When boiled they were left cooling.
    Ink was bruised from the soft heads of young blackberry briars.
    Thatching was made. First the roof was made of wood. Then long sods were dug from the bog, and placed on the top of the timber.
    Baskets were made this way also. A sycamore tree was cut up in thin pieces and woven tightly together. Pangers were made the same way.
    Soap was made from parifin
