  1. There is gold hidden in Kilcrea Abbey. This old abbey is eleven miles west of Cork City.
    The exact spot where the gold is hidden is not known. Some persons say that it is hidden in the arches inside the gate. Everybody has a story of their own about the gold.
    The monks of the abbey hid the gold. They did this between (1599-1604). During the end of the sixteenth century the English soldiers tried to recover the gold. They made several attempts but they failed.
    A local man dreamt that the gold was hidden in the left wall inside the gate. He searched the wall on the left. He was seen damaging the wall. The Cork Archaeological
