  1. (continued from previous page)
    On the meadows of Kilmore.
How they gathered round some grassy mound,
When the evening Sun was low
To dance and play sweet music
    On the Banks of Carnadoe.
    VII
I hope the day's not far away,
    When Irishmen will stand
Once more upon the green clad hills
Of their own dear native land
To night the wrong she has suffered long,
    And lay the Tyrant low
That has wasted many a lovely spot.
    Like Smiling Carnadoe.
