   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   I
   Pontius Pilate had a horse
   That was black, blue and grey
   And an ugly one, too,
   The Scripture does say
   He never got a match
   While a horse was to be had
   Till there came an ugly peeler
   to the town of Ballinafad.

   II
   I was summoned to the Court
   On Wednesday to appear
   Before Taafe, the attorney
   And J. P's that were there
   They fined me but a shilling
   They couldn't speak of jail
   Because I kept a donkey that used
   to wag his tail.

   III
   My prosecutor on the bench
   Was Finneran by name
   One of the meanest policemen
   That ever God did frame
