  1. Once upon a time there lived a man named Thomas Ryan. He was out working in his field one day when he saw on the headland a very small man he was looking over the ditch. Thomas said to himself he looked like a fairy man. He went up towards him and caught him behind the back, He asked him where the money was. "Oh look" said the fairy your house is on fire. Thomas ran up to the hedge to see his house, but there was no fire. Only the cock was to be seen he was crowing on the dunghill and the fairy was gone.
