    (abby) Abbeyleix and three from Mountrath. In the early centuries there were seven churches in the parish of Clonenagh. There was also a monastery and a school here, in which St, Fintan's spent his life.There was a well in a field nearby known as St,Fintan's Well and as many were visiting this spot the owner of the field was dissatisfied because of the trespassing on his land. As a result a dispute arose,St, Fintan was supposed to have then removed the well,which sprang up in Cromogue, this owing to the fact that there was another of his churches
