Long ago "straw boys" used go round the houses of those to be married,looking for drink.The custom here is, that if the prospective bride or bridegroom is not liked,or has done something wrong or mean men and boys sound them.That is,the bottom are taken out of bottles and they keep blowing through the bottles like horns tormenting those who are to be married. This is done for many nights before and after the marriage, There is no hauling home but it is considered unlucky for the bride to go back to her house for a month after her marriage,
