  1. Three Englishmen, while travelling around this district, were supposed to have a lot of money. While travelling through the Rower, which is in this Parish and about five miles from Inistioge, they were attacked and murdered it is thought for their money. It is not known who the murderers were, and no one seemed to by any richer after the murder accurred. Some years later a little girl from Kilcross, Inistioge who was coming home from school brought home a bib-ful of gold to her Mammy. Her Mother astonished, at what she had, asked her where she got it. The little girl said "There's plenty more down the road." Then the whole household went to look for more. Soon the neighbours heard the story, and came to look for their share and there was a dispute. Most of the people
