    Gobbán, but he was afraid to refuse him. He said he would test Gobbán and he asked him to make a cat-of-nine-tails.
    Gobban was afraid he would not be able to make it, but he said he would try. He made it so well that the king said he would give him the job of making the coffins, because he said he was a better man than the man he had employed.
    Once Gobbán visited Saint Mullins, and at the same time, they were building the church there. He asked the foreman for a job, but the foreman only laughed at him. There was a carpenter trying to make a wedge to fit in a hole, but he was not able. The foreman asked Gobban if he could make the wedge.
    Gobbán took his hatchet out of his bag and he made the wedge in a minute. Then he threw it up at the hole, and after it he threw the hatchet, and firmed
