  1. Long ago the tailors used to travel from house to house making clothes. There was once a tailor who was very fond of playing cards. One day while he was making clothes he began playing cards and he lost all his money. Then he began to put up his needles, thimbles and all his pack, on cards until his companions had them all taken. That night he went around to all his debtors and collected his money but he did not get much. He had to give the money he got for his food. Then he had no money for his lodgings that night. He had to go to work with farmers until he had enough money earned to buy a new pack.
