    and mortar about four feet from the wall and three feet high.
    The bellows is made of wood and leather. There is a frame erected to which it is attached by iron plates. There is a handle about six feet long with horn for the hand at one end, and at the other is a chain which is attached to the bellows. In the top part is a hole about two inches in diameter which is covered by a tongue inside when this instrument is working.
    When the handle goes up the hole is open and takes in air. When the handle is pressed down the tongue closes and the wind goes through the pipe which is at the lower part and blows the fire. This bellows was not made locally.
