(continued from previous page)great story-teller in our district named James Cosgrave. This man was a sailor, and he can still tell many stories of his adventures at sea. A man named Thomas Lavin is a great singer and he has composed many old songs. There is also a step-dancer named Scanlon. He is said to have learned the steps from an old dancing teacher named Mc.Mahon, who travelled from place to place.
A man named Hannon was so swift he could catch rabbits and hares by running after them, and he was supposed to find a bee's nest by running after the bee. About fifty years ago, there lived a very strong man, who was a great boxer. Many men in the parish challenged hi, but none were equal to him. His name was Tim Costello.
There was a certain man living in Keash named John. Brennan. He was a great boxer. A fight arose, and Brennan was accused of taking part in it. He dodged six mounted police, but was afterwards caught by his mother who(continues on next page)- Collector
