- Bolg an Uachra; is the name of a rock between Sherky Island and the main-land. In rough weather when the waves break over the rock it puts foam all over the island. Very often there was much fish caught there. One summer day long ago a girl, who lived in the island. She was bringing a bag of turf. She rested the bag on a ditch or a height.She stood and looked around. It was ebb-tide and most of the rock was exposed. She saw what was a big city instead of the rock. The girl told the story to the people. They were all surprised to hear it. But one man said that if she might look where she was standing she would see the four-leafed shamrock under her foot.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
