  1. A man named Dan Dwyer lived at Direenamuraig in Sneem. One night he was going home late when he met people carrying a coffin. They asked him to bear a hand with the coffin. He refused saying he was in a hurry home to supper.
    "Ocras bliadhna ort" said they to Dan and from that day to that day twelve months Dan could never eat sufficient to satisfy his appetite.
