(continued from previous page)Long ago people used to have to get up early to go to the market in Kilkenny. One morning there was a Mrs. Maher and a Mrs. Darcy going to the market with fowl. They had no clock and they thought it was about two oclock but it was only twelve. When they came to King's Bush a big white ball rolled out in front of them and it kept rolling until it came to Foulkscourt Bridge then it opened out into a big light. The ass they had would not go on so they had to wait a long time. At last they turned the ass around and backed him past the light and then they went on.
