  1. You melancholy muses assist my doleful tale
    The exists of my darling son in sorrow to bewail
    His fine and manly form I never will see more
    Or never will adorn the plains of sweet Bawnmore

    When Orpheus harp was soundng his Eurydice to please,
    The rivers lakes, and fountains resounding with his lays,
    My darling lutes played sweeter far midst echo deeper with much regress,
    While o'er the landscape bound
    For his little home to bless.
    When bands and banners lately passed in triump through our land.
    Young Russell dressed in emerald green sat foremost in the van
    And every town as they passed through
    Stood crowds from every part to hear young Russell's music
    'Twould raise the widow's heart,
    A death though faithfull messenger why art thou so unkind
    To take the young and beautiful and leave the old behind
