a persons mouth if it was open. This animal was often used for healing a burn. The person who suffered from the burn licked the man creeper.
Many times this was a success. Only for the great faith people had in the cures the cures themselves would not have been of any use.
    A cure for Ague
There is a cure for ague in this part of the country. A person's body is all shaking when he is suffering from ague. The doctors used not be able to cure ague and the afflicted person used swallow a small living frog. The frog would eat whatever was causing the disease. Then the frog would die and the person would get well. This cure was many times a success.
