  1. My town-land is in Greaghalattacapple in the parish of Carrickmacross, and in the barony of Farney. There are thirteen families in my town-land. The most common name in it is Hanratty. Nearly all the houses are slated. The land in it is very hilly, and there are two bogs in it. There is a mountain near it called Corduff mountain which is 850 ft high, it is the highest point between us and sea. All the rivers flowing north from the mountain flow into the Atlantic Ocean. Numbers of the people left from this town-land during the famine, and went to America where they settled
