  2. Wild birds like: wild geese, wild ducks, plover, seagull, pheasants, woodcock, snipe, and waterhen are generally found in bogs and marshy places. The wild birds that are found in the district round about our houses are as follows; robin, wren, blackbird, thrush, sparrow, swallow, cuckoo, corncrake, green linnet, skylark, crow, magpie, gold-finch, hawk, pigeon and yellow-hammer. All these birds build nests of their own except the cuckoo.
The swallow, cuckoo and corncrake are migratory birds.
The robin builds its nest in very peculiar places generally on fences. She builds her nest with moss and lines it with feathers. She lays about five eggs of a white colour and dotted with brown.
