  1. The name of my townland is Barnfield. It is in the parish of Killeentierna and in the barony of Trughenacmy. There are eight families in the townland having a population of about fifty. The townland has all slated dwellings. there are four people over seventy living there. They do not know Irish or cannot tell stories in Irish or in English. The houses were more numerous in olden times than they are now. The people emigrated to America and Australia.
