Certain men were good thatchers and went about doing thus work. Jerh. Downey Geragh is known to be a good thatcher.
Long ago the beds were kept in the kitchen these beds were called settle beds and could be opened out. This usually was in the corner by the fire.
The chimney was made of wickerwork and plastered with mud(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
