  1. Robert Divine ran from the chapel and jumped the gate at the road. He was a native of Knocknaska. He died about 40 years of age. He died about 20 years ago. The gate was about 6ft high.

  2. John Keenan- he went by the name of "Long John". He lived at Ballintrufane. Before the R.I.C were established he was working at a still making poitin. The revenue men heard about the poitin making & they went to make a catch. He saw them coming & took the still on his back. The agents gave chase but John jumped the river near Killavill and left the barony rangers standing in awe.
