  2. The anvil is left on a wooden block. It is said that if the block was turned the blacksmith would have no luck in the forge.

  3. An iron roof is what was put on the forges in former times but the smoke and the heat of the forge used to rust the iron and holes were put in it. People stopped putting iron on the roof of the forges.
