  1. There was a priest reading Mass on the hill-side near Boyle and the soldiers came upon him. The priest turned round and told them to fire at him. As soon as he said these they fell to the ground and were not able to stir until the priest got away safe.

  2. On the Penal Times some Protestants were very good to the priests. They took them into their homes and gave them a place of concealment until the priest_ hunters left the locality.
