  1. For toothache a little moistened and put in the cavity of the tooth relieves pain. Vinegar and water used as a good gargle for sore throats.
    The old fashioned remedy for a cold or chill was a posset made of buttermilk and oatmeal boiled and taken with sugar and butter.
    In spring-time people used to eat boiled nettles and dandoloine also, in order to leave them healthy during the year.
    Donkey's milk is good for a crying child. A good cure for corns is to go bare-footed in a soft bog.
    The seventh son can cure a disease known as "Ring Worm".
    A child born after its father's death can cure "foul-mouth".
