  1. Superstitions are omens in which nearly all Irish people believe.
    There is a superstition if you meet a red haired woman on your journey you will have a mishap before you reach home.
    Another good superstition is if you meet one magpie it is the sign of sorrow, two for joy, three for a wedding, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold and seven for a story that was never told before.
    If you see a star falling and wish for something before it lands you are supposed to get your wish.
    If a knife falls it is the sign of a man coming in, but if a spoon
