  1. There was a great wind in 1839. There were people killed by it, there were houses knocked down and flooded.
    About seven years ago there was a thunder storm it started about four o'clock and lasted until eight. There were cocks of hay burned with lightning and cattle ran against bushes and were killed. A lot of the land int he district was flooded, the floods lasted for three days. There were also floods in former times there were people downed in them. Some people ran up trees to be saved from the floods.
    The time of the year which the storms occurred was in the end of autumn.
    There was a great snow storm and the people could not get
