  1. Tom Morrison of Drumfin in former times carried sacks of corn weighing twenty four stone on his back. Pat Niland of Drumfin often carried a creel of sand on his back for a hundred yards for a wager. James Greene of Bekey often carried a turf barrow in his mouth for a challenge. William Jinks of Coolbock and James Millmoe of the same place were two great mowers who cut an acre each in the day.
    Charles Dolan of Dumfin was a famous step dancer and also a singer, the songs are now known.
