    its nest in April or May. It is built of twigs on the foundation of an old nest of a crow or squirrel, high up in a tree. She lays from four to six eggs and they are hatched out in May or June.
    The hawk has a very sharp cry and flies very rapidly. Its short rounded wings and long tail are useful for catching prey as he can rise and dive very suddenly. The male hawk is smaller and more reddish brown than the female. The young hawks are black with reddish brown edges to their feathers.
