    There are many old marriage customs some of which I will now relate:-
    Marry in May and you'll go far away.
    Marry in Lent and your sure to repent.
    Marry in blue and your lover is true.
    Marry in green you are ashamed to be seen.
    Marry in red you'd rather be dead.
    Marry in brown you'll live out of town.
    The bride should wear "something old and something new something borrows and something blue."
    The young married girl should not go back to her father's and mother's home for over a month after she is married.
    It is said that on the way to the church if the marriage party meet a white horse it is a sign of good luck.
    It is also said that if the wedding party meet a funeral or if a coffin is in the church it is a sign of bad luck in their future life.
    It is said that a young boy or girl can see his or her future husband or wife by sleeping on a piece of a wedding cake thrice drawn through the wedding ring of
