    whole story from start to finish. After a short time they got over the fright but they could not dance very much that night so they would be better off to stay at home. They had about four men to come home with them that night to knock the dread out of them.
    The men conveyed them up the road again and they passed the fort without seeing or hearing anything.
    That was all right until a man was coming home very late after visiting some friends. Just as he was passing the fort which was alongside the road up through the ground came the form of a ghost. The man was a very brave fellow and did not believe in such things as ghosts. The ghost halted in front of the man and all of a sudden spoke to the man. "What are you doing out this hour of the night", said he, "don't you know that this is our time of the night to be out. The next time I will catch you out so late I will work you harm". The man walked away and took no notice of what the ghost said to him. The next Sunday night he was out the same hour when the ghost appeared again.
