  1. A Great Frost
About twenty five years ago there was a great frost. Greagh lake was frozen to a depth of five feet. The people crossed the lake with heavy laden carts and had to cross it going to mass also. The rivers were frozen and mills could not be worked.
It was a great disadvantage to the people as their earth had no water to drink. It was ten days before a thaw had set in.
