  1. St. George R. Johnstone owned the Ballagh estate. He lived at Longford and came once every year to collect the rents from the tenants. He was a very good kind man to his tenants giving them seed potatoes, oats, abatement in rent etc.
    Many tenants brought their horses and carts each year down to his estate at Longford to get their seed potatoes and oats free. However as time went on and land agitation became keen the tenants began to play on his kindness.
    This time he came for his rent and did not receive even one penny each tenant giving his own excuse he had a cow
