  1. Holy Wells
    There are three holy wells in this district - one in Athenry called 'The Lady Well', one in Abbeyknockmoy called Knock Crow and one in Ahascragh called St. Kevin's Well. My father told me that he went to the holy well in Knock-Crow a few times. The origin of this well was - once St. Bernard appeared on the side of a hill and he formed the shape of a well on the ground with a stick and pulled up a rush. A fountain of water sprung up and still it remains there.
